annie leibovitz shoots mary antoinette
Gotta love Annie’s commercial shoots. So expensive, yet so brilliant. Very reminiscent of renaissance paintings, which I guess is what she was going for. The scenes were taken from the DVD Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens which is quite a good documentary, written, produced and directed by Annie’s sister, Barbara Leibovitz, in honour of their mother.
The DVD shows you the very interesting life of Annie, from the time she starts out shooting rock and roll with Rolling Stone magazine to her current romp with Vanity Fair and Vogue. This is not a technical DVD, it doesn’t talk about the technical details of taking pictures or organising shoots, it’s pretty much all about Annie, what she did, how she thinks. Very human. Recommended viewing.

Great stuff.
